Ronald Koenig seals the partnership with John Chmela

As the coalition of organizations that support the NFAs continues to grow, so also does our need for better and better communication technology. The NFAs are now officially a coalition of over 30 organizations, and trying to coordinate meetings amongst to the entire staff has become a worthy challenge.

Enter Ronald I. Koenig, Chairman, President and CEO of Viack. Ron paid a visit to the New Freedom Awards Headquarters to announce that his company is willing to provide the necessary technology to all of the supporting organizations to enable video conferencing, phone quality bi-directional audio conferencing, and document sharing (including Powerpoint) for our project.

The most remarkable thing about this contribution is that we immediately noticed its ability to create "new freedoms" on its own. By allowing rich communication electronically in business meetings, you open the door to many opportunities for people with disabilities. Telecommummuting is a big part of the president's New Freedom Initiative, and tools like The VIAł Online Meeting Service takes us there very quickly.

We welcome Viack as our new partner and our official communication technology partner for the New Freedom Awards. We look forward to working with them throughout the course of the project, and we are eager to learn whether any of the Viack products get nominated for a New Freedom Award itself. Wouldn't that be a welcomed surprise.
