Mark Parente Pumps himself up using the EasyStand5000

On September 5th, 1995, Mark Parente, was involved in an automibile accident that took the life of his brother and injured Mark's spine leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Mark has not stood straight up since that date seven over years ago.

Today, Mark was fitted for the EasyStand 5000 from Altimate Medical. Mark was selected for this new device as part of our project planning for the "New Freedom Awards" ceremony on July 22nd, 2003. Mark Parente will be reading the names of the nominees in the standing position at the event. Altimate Medical is giving Mark the freedom to stand and read the nominees, and they wanted Mark to have plenty of time to become accustomed to his new freedom...standing.
