New Freedom Awards Takes Aim
Bill Bogdan, Illinois Spinal Cord Injury Association
Documents, lists, matrixes, phone calls, and face-to-face visits is what the New Freedom Awards Team will be focusing on for the next 30 days.

We determined our primary objectives at the last meeting and one of the key elements was to get support from within the community of persons with disabilities."

The team decided that we must first create the proper documentation to support our mission. We need to let people know who we are (and what we are NOT), what are mission is, why we are doing this, and how we plan to proceed.

The New Freedom Awards is a great project and its worth doing. By communicating these issues up front to the various individuals, organizations, and corporations that are effected by our event (stakeholders), we increase our chances of success while simultaneously reducing our chances of leaving an important organization out of the mission.

Sometimes all this planning seems non-productive, but studies show that for every hour we put into the planning stage, we save 20-200 hours in re-work in later phases of the project.
