THE NEW FREEDOM AWARDS

In 2002, the Jim Mullen Foundation launched the New Freedom Awards project with support from individuals and corporate donors to acknowledge the thousands of men and women who step forward to create new freedoms for people who have a disability.

The annual awards program will recognize:

1. Products that represent the most significant breakthroughs in adaptive technology

2. Manufacturers of computer hardware and software that make the most conspicuous contributions to new access for the disabled.

3. Agencies and organizations that substantially broaden access to the surrounding community by the disabled.

4. Research and scientific advances that eliminate barriers or establish "cures" for disabilities
